The Wine Advocate 2009 February Château La Couspaude 2006, Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé
Rating: 9O
A strong sleeper of the vintage, this sexy, hedonistic, modern-styled St.-Emilion has the tell-tale toasty new oak
component, which is prominent, but the combination of sweetness, ripeness, and concentration of beautiful black currant and black cherry fruit is a winning one. Deep, medium to full-bodied flavors, with ripe tannin and a long, layered finish make for a complete St.-Emilion to drink over the next 12-15 years

Sweet, quite gentle nose. Mild and appealing with good balance and nice round tannins. Mouthfilling. Broad. Quite long. There’s a refreshing coolness to this wine but it is not short of fruit.
Nez doux et très élégant. Une bouche douce et séduisant, avec un bon équilibre et de jolis tanins ronds. Plein en bouche, prononcé, belle longueur. Frais en bouche et malgré tout les arômes de fruits sont persistants.

Score : 88–90 new
Packed with tannins, the fruit needs time to make its way through. But it is there, a fine layer of dark plums and cranberries. Roger Voss

Fragrant red berry fruits on the nose. Palate supple, warm and fruity but it's a bit one-dimensional and flat. Drink 2011-2018 (14.5 points)
Nez parfumé de fruits rouges. Souple en bouche, chaleureux et fruité. D’une complexité accessible. A boire 2001-2018
2007 RED BORDEAUX, JAMES SUCKLING 2008 March Château La Couspaude 2007, Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé
Score: 85-88
Some good blackberry and mineral character follows through to a medium body, with fine tannins and a clean finish. Slightly hollow.

15,5.

The Wine Advocate 2006 April Château La Couspaude 2005, Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé
An outstanding sleeper of the vintage, the 2005 may turn out to be one of the finest examples yet of this modern-styled St Emilion. Nicely oaked, ripe bul nor over-ripe, it possesses a deep ruby/purple color as well as sweet scants of pain grillé, kirch liqueur, and black currants. Ripe. Medium to full-bodied, and rich, with good glycerin as well as freshness, and a long, heady finish. This succulent offering should be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years.

ANDREAS LARSSON BEST SOMMELIER OF THE WORLD 2007:
“Dense purple-ruby colour, the nose is young and showing toasted oak, and ripe dark berries, the palate has a nice concentration, with integrated tannins and a nice freshness, needs some time, long finish”.
The Wine Advocate 2007 Château La Couspaude 2004, Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé
A hednostic, modern style St Emilion, the dark ruby :purple-tinged 2004 La Couspaude reveals plenty of pain grille/new oak aromas intermixed with notions of espresso roast, kirsch liqueur, and plums. Medium-bodied with loads of fruit and wood characteristics, this is an uncomplicated, but delicious, forward style of wine to drink over the next decade.
Tasted 2007 Château La Couspaude 2001, Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé
“Aged ruby-tawny colour, elegant nose, mature aromas of smoke, truffles, red fruit and spices, the palate is fairly smooth with elegant fruit and firm tannins, fresh and long after taste.”
